Within the constantly increasing online collection database of the Hungarian National Museum approximately 65 thousand object descriptions are available at present, mostly complete with photo illustration.
There are more ways for users to get access to specific objects from the home page: you may use simple search, advanced search or you may wish to browse by collections, creators, subjects or techniques.
Definitions, data and descriptions of objects within the database are all based on the objects register and publications of our museologists which are protected by copyright. Using or quoting them you are kindly requested to observe general rules of online source quotation.

We cannot be held responsible for any images that have been shared by a third party after they have been modified, coloured, edited and/or paraphrased.
Using photos
600 x 800 versions of object photos may be used free of charge exclusively for non-profit purposes (degree thesis, academic research).
Any form of publication of photos or their use for commercial purposes is allowed only by prior authorisation and permission of the Hungarian National Museum and on payment of a fee.
Publication of copyrighted objects and their use for commercial purposes are permitted only with the approval of the copyright holder.
